![]() | Speaker: Alan Murray, Lecturer in Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility, Sheffield University Alan is Chair of the British Academy of Management Special Interest Group in CSR. His book, Corporate Responsibility: A Critical Introduction, co-authored with Michael Blowfield, was published in 2008 by Oxford University Press. His research interests revolve around corporate responsibility, social and environmental accounting, and capital market engagement with sustainable development. He is currently working on a research project looking at business engagement with sustainable development, in the UK, Europe and China. ![]() | Speaker: Jesse Dillard, Director of the Center for Professional Integrity and Accountability in the School of Business, Portland State University Jesse's current interests include the ethical and public interest implications of administrative and information technologies as they affect social and environmental sustainability and accountability. Of particular concern are the ways management accounting can serve as a valuable strategic management tool in meeting their societal obligations. Professor Dillard has published widely, recently co-editing Understanding the Social Dimension of Sustainability. He is an Associate Editor of Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and was recently awarded the Mary Parker Follett Award for Excellence. Collaboration: the case for strategic pragmatism
![]() | Speaker: Lucian Hudson, Ministry of Justice Lucian is currently on Special Assignment with the UK Ministry of Justice, where he is working with other government departments to identify how the findings of his report on collaboration can be used to improve civil service capability. Previously, he was Director of Communications at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, where he led for the first time in the FCO’s history an integrated communication directorate, bringing together strategic communication and public diplomacy, press office, internal communication and stakeholder outreach. Lucian was Director of Communications for the Department for Constitutional Affairs between 2004 and 2006. Before this, he was Director of Communications and Chief Knowledge Officer at DEFRA. ![]() | Speaker: Professor Steven Toms, York University Management School Steven is Professor of Accounting and Finance and Head of The York Management School. Prior to 2004, he was Professor of Accounting and Business History at the University of Nottingham. His research interests centre on the role of accounting, accountability and corporate governance in the development of organisations, from historical and environmental perspectives. Specific projects have examined the impact of corporate governance and accounting disclosure on environmental reputation and financial performance. Paul is on the Steering Committee of the United Nations Environment Program’s Finance Initiative, Chair of the Supplier Support and Information Initiative, a member of the Small Business Consortium, a member of the Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change, a Trustee of Global Action Plan and a member of Lloyds TSB’s Corporate Responsibility Steering Group and Carbon Reduction Steering Group.
