Newspaper Reading Room Copy Services

A range of self-help and staff assisted copy services are available to provide photocopies of pages from newspapers, subject to preservation checks and the usual copyright restrictions.

Self-service microfilm reader-printers are available in the Newspaper Reading Room. These are operated using a reader account. The Reading Room Enquiry Desk staff can advise you on how to set up a reader account.

There are also networked printers in the Reading Room for you to print from our electronic resources.

Orders for other copy services available from British Library Newspapers may be placed at the Enquiry Desk in the main Reading Room.

The photocopies produced are suitable for general reference purposes only. The quality of the copies produced depends largely on the condition of the microfilm being used. A3 size or A4 size copies are produced. The self-service printers do not allow the production of broadsheet (A2) size copies.

Photocopies from microfilm can also be produced by our Paper Copy Services staff. The quality of copies produced should be suitable for general reference purposes, but again it depends greatly on the condition of the microfilm. We are only able to provide A3 size copies from microfilm.

Payment
