The Library’s procedures for copying its collections have been developed both in accordance with relevant UK legislation and to help preserve its collection by reducing the risk of damage. You can use our self- service copy facilities to copy collection items subject to the Library’s preservation policy, copyright and data protection laws.
A4 B/W printing/photocopying is charged at £0.26 per sheet and A3 B/W printing/photocopying is charged at £0.49 per sheet.
A4 colour printing is charged at £0.38 per sheet and A3 colour printing is charged at £0.77 per sheet.
Copyright forms are £12.00 + VAT and are available from the Enquiries Desk in the Boston Spa Reading Room.
Payment is made to an account, which requires your British Library Online Account username and password for access.
From 5 January 2015 you will be able to photograph collection items using compact cameras, tablets and mobile phones in the Boston Spa Reading Room.
Photographic copies made may be used for personal reference and must not be used, directly or indirectly, for a commercial purpose. Copyright and data protection laws may still apply.
Some material will be excluded from self-service photography, including items at risk of damage, or further damage or items that are difficult to use due to their size or format.
