The 13 Reading Rooms have equipment which helps to make our collections accessible to all Readers.
The Disability Support Officer will provide advice and guidance to Readers who need assistance with our Reading Room services.
Each workstation incorporates Supernova software as well as a large monitor, a large print keyboard and a trackball. Headphones are available on request. A large diameter stand-mounted magnifying lens and a hand-held magnifying lens are also available.

Supernova (A screen magnification and screen text-to-speech reader).
ScannaR (A hardcopy text-to-speech reader).
myReader (A video magnifier, it scans and captures the entire hardcopy page and presents it to users for reading).
Aladdin (A video magnifier).
Both the ScannaR and myReader units are transportable for use in another of our reading rooms. If you have a need to use one of these units in a specific reading room please contact the Disability Support Officer before your visit to arrange this.
