Springer e-Books: access over 5,000 scientific e-Book titles at the British Library
The British Library has recently renewed subscriptions to Springer’s Biomedical and Life Science and Earth & Environmental Science e-Book collections for 2011. We have also taken out a new subscription to the Springer Medicine collection, comprising over 2,000 e-Book titles on a wide variety on medical subjects and specialities. In total, the Library now has access to almost 6,000 scientific e-Books from Springer, published between 2005 and date, with new content added every month.

Biomedical and Life Science collection:

Subjects covered include: biochemistry, ecology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, plant science.
Notable works include: The Prokaryotes; Encyclopedia of Neuroscience; Encyclopedia of Cancer; Encyclopedia of Entomology; Antibody Engineering.
Earth and Environmental Science collection:

Subjects covered include: earth sciences, environment, geology, geophysics, meteorology, petrology, oceanography, mineralogy and hydrology.
Notable works include: Encyclopedia of World Climatology; Geological Atlas of Africa; Encyclopedia of Soil Science; Energy and Environment; Encyclopedia of Coastal Science.

Access is via the publisher’s platform: SpringerLink.
Content is displayed in PDF and HTML formats and can be downloaded by individual chapter and printed. Content is fully
searchable and hyperlinked through easy-to-use browsing and search functions.
Please note: Access to Springer eBook content is restricted to networked PCs in the Library’s Reading Rooms only. It is not possible to save or email eBook content but it is possible to make print-outs.
