John Kington (1930-), meteorologist and climatologist, worked as a forecaster and climatologist in the Meteorological Office from the late 1940s, before moving to the newly established Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in 1971. At the CRU he conducted detailed reconstructions of the weather of the 1780s, using historical weather maps. He continues to work in retirementand is the author of the New Naturalist title Climate and Weather (2010).
