There were numerous attempts by Australian state housing authorities to regenerate social housing estates in the 1980s. They have since faced the challenge of sustaining the benefits that accrued from the initial injection of cash. This paper presents results of research which reviewed current practices in developing exit strategies through case studies of five initiatives.
