This article introduces the work of the new Homes and Community Agency which will be launched in April 2009 through an interview with Sir Bob Kerslake, its chief executive. The Agency will take over the work of the Housing Corporation and English Partnerships, and inherit the housing responsibilities of the Department for Communities and Local Government. It will take charge of tackling homelessness, improving social housing, funding housing associations, and regenerating cities.
