Fathers to get six months paternity leave

A. Porter

Daily Telegraph, Jan. 28th 2010, p. 1

Fathers are to be given the right to take the place of the mother at home during the last three months of her nine month statutory maternity leave. They would be eligible during this period for 123.00 per week in state benefits. They would then be allowed to take an additional unpaid three months off, in effect providing families with 12 months of parental leave.
