Affordable homeownership policy: implications for housing markets

The Singapore government intervenes extensively in the housing sector to ensure that homeownership is affordable, with a resulting rate of homeownwership of 91% for the resident population. This study tests various hypotheses regarding the implications of setting house price to income ratio targets using the Singapore housing market as a case study.
