Anger surrounds demise of vast 1970s estate

Preliminary demolition is due to begin on the vast Heygate estate in Southwark, South London, as part of a tortuous £1.5bn regeneration plan that has already sparked a political row and angered former residents. They accuse Southwark Council to going back on its promise to put local working class people at the heart of the redevelopment.
