Disability charities have accused the Government of labelling disable people as scroungers, after the Government said that only one in 14 people applying for disability benefits has a genuine claim. The charities say that the new Work Capability Assessment is flawed and cannot truly evaluate an individual's ability to work; this, they claim, is proven by the number of cases where rejections based on the assessment are reversed on appeal.
