Individuals who are homeless often present with complex and multiple health problems, including a combination of substance misuse, mental health and physical health issues. The Queen's Nursing Institute Opening Doors Project operates through a network of nurses and other health professionals working with homeless people with particular reference to substance misuse. The project aims to improve the healthcare of the client group by disseminating information on research and best practice through an e-newsletter, workshops and guidance notes.
