Argues that at its present level the minimum wage in the UK is set too low to trigger either inflation or job losses. Increasing the minimum wage would be likely to impact adversely on both job creation and inflation. Points out that there are other ways of helping the low-paid, such as tax credits or increases in in-work benefits.
