MEASURING THE THREAT OF COMPETITION: SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY IN THE CITY OF STOCKHOLM

Study investigated the impact of the introduction of competitive tendering on services for the elderly in Stockholm. Three different approaches were used for the purpose of isolating the effects of the competition threat. Findings showed that the threat of competition resulted in a cost reduction of 4-6%.
