MONEY, CHOICE AND CONTROL: THE FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF EARLY RETIREMENT

S. Arthur

Disability Rights Bulletin, Spring 2004, p.2-4

Research by the Department of Work and Pensions shows that around half of people who retire early do so because of ill health. New qualitative research carried out by the National Centre for Social Research suggests the need for help and support for people to stay in their job, or to find a new job, when their health deteriorates. People also need better advice and information about financial planning.
