DON'T IGNORE SPECIAL NEEDS

S. Bradshaw

Community Care, Feb.17th-23rd 2005, p.34-35

Argues that further education colleges are not providing a suitable learning environment for young people with Asperger's syndrome. Colleges expect their students to be able to take responsibility for their own learning and do not provide the holistic support and care these young people need. Lack of further education opportunities means that young people with Asperger's syndrome cannot enter the world of work, and so lose any prospect of living independently.
