Third of all NHS trusts plan cuts, says BMA

A BMA survey suggests that 385 of the 530 NHS trusts in England are facing budget shortfalls totalling £2.4billion this year. Despite record funding, the financial crisis in the health service is escalating with a third of NHS trusts planning to cut services, close wards and make doctors and nurses redundant.
