Third of all NHS trusts plan cuts, says BMA

A BMA survey suggests that 385 of the 530 NHS trusts in England are facing budget shortfalls totalling 2.4billion this year. Despite record funding, the financial crisis in the health service is escalating with a third of NHS trusts planning to cut services, close wards and make doctors and nurses redundant.
