Social capital can be defined as the networks, norms, and trust that facilitate co-ordination and cooperation for mutual benefit. Investing in development of social capital is not a luxury but a necessity for the building of an inclusive and just society. One of the most effective ways of doing this is by supporting and resourcing community development activity.
