J. Devo

Professional Social Work, July 2007, p. 8-9

This article presents a case study highlighting the plight of full-time carers in the UK who are looking after elderly, mentally ill or disabled family members at home. It is estimated that these dedicated people are saving the government 57bn a year in health and social care costs, but they live in poverty due to inadequate cash benefits.
