The literary collections at the British Library are unparalleled. Whether you’re looking for an edition of Shakespeare published during the playwright’s lifetime or an email sent by one of the leading British poets of the 21st century, the Library almost certainly has what you need to support your research.

Our Doctoral Open Days are a chance for new PhD students to discover the British Library’s unique research materials. At this free event you will learn about our English and Drama collections from the 19th – 21st Centuries, find out how to access them, and meet our expert staff and other researchers in your field. The events are solely for first year PhD students who are new to the Library. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Please only book on a single event, using the Book Now link above, and contact us if you are unable to attend – these events are very popular.

To make the most of your day, you may wish to get a free Reader Pass before the event.

This event is taking place in the Bronte room, in the British Library Conference Centre
