The Knight  in the Panther’s Skin, the Georgian national epic, was composed by Shota Rustaveli in the 12th century. It was first translated into English by Marjory Scott Wardrop and published by the Royal Asiatic Society in 1912.

Organised in collaboration with the British Georgian Society, this event celebrates 100 years of Rustaveli in English with three short papers on epic poetry in Persian, Georgian, and French and Spanish by Charles Melville, Aka Morchiladze, and Geoff West.

The event will be followed by a reception with Georgian choral music and Georgian wine, sponsored by Ukraine International Airlines.
