LATE at the Library: Vice and Virtue
When: Fri 6 Dec 2013, 19.30-23.00
Where: Entrance Hall, British Library
Join us for a sumptuous evening of decadent pleasure and entertainment. Celebrate the legacy of the Georgian era with guest DJ Amazonia, live performance, circus, installations, bar and food and a late night opening of the exhibition. Meet uncommon rogues and gents, rowdy vixens and genteel ladies for a night of utter splendour and spectacle.
Be thrilled by the antics and daring-do of Circus Space performers and the exquisite trapeze artistes Collectif and Then. These death-defying experts in contemporary circus live among a tangle of ropes, ideas, and musings that fuse the borders between circus, theatre, dance and music. Their uniquely inventive imagination and audacious performance is sure to dazzle.
Learn the subtle language of communicating with a flick of your fan and tempt a beau or snub a suitor… Likewise discover the finer points of Georgian etiquette with the Georgian Townhouse Party; promenade in masks and savour tasty Georgian morsels in a varied evening of installation, demonstration and much more.
And you’ll be sure to come across both vice and virtue lurking within the verdant pleasure gardens rolling through the Library’s entrance hall. Our idyllic swathes have been beautifully designed by master gardeners Cityscapes.
All is hosted by your MC for the night, the cabaret entertainment sensation Christopher Green.
Don’t be late ......arrive early and have a look round our Christmas Market where you'll find a host of different gift ideas. Open until 20.00.
