Join Folio Prize-shortlisted author Sergio De La Pava, judge Sarah Hall, and Academicians A.S. Byatt and Sam Leith in a discussion about how mastering structure, the ‘bones’ of a story, is essential to any work of fiction. Sergio De La Pava is a Colombian-American writer who works as a public defender in New York. His novel A Naked Singularity was described by the Wall Street Journal as ‘a thrilling rejoinder to the tidy story arcs portrayed on television and in most crime fiction’. Sarah Hall, author of four novels and a collection of short stories, has won numerous accolades including the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the BBC National Short Story Award. A distinguished critic as well as a writer of fiction, A.S. Byatt is internationally renowned. She was made CBE in 1990 and DBE in 1999. Sam Leith is a former Literary Editor of the Daily Telegraph, a regular newspaper contributor, and an author of non-fiction and fiction.
