Late at the Library: Comics and Music
When: Fri 16 May 2014, 19.30-22.30
Where: Entrance Hall, British Library
A night of songs and sounds, inspired by the world of comics, plus food, drinks and more.
We are delighted to announce that the fabulous MARC ALMOND has been added to the bill, performing a very special set of dark cabaret songs.
With great regret Amanda Palmer is unable to travel to London for personal reasons and therefore will not be performing at this event. She sincerely appreciates your understanding on this matter: please see the explanation on her blog.
We can, however, exclusively reveal that author Neil Gaiman will now be taking part in 'Late at the Library', reading live on stage, and celebrating music and comics. Also playing will be musician and graphic artist extraordinaire Dave McKean – who illustrated Neil’s Sandman and Coraline as well as countless landmark comics, album sleeves and more – and Alexander Tucker, another who spans the music and graphic novel worlds.
DJ on the night will be legendary fashion designer Pam Hogg, who brilliantly blends the musical and the visual.
The evening features free entrance to our blockbuster summer exhibition Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK.
Ticket-holders who wish to apply for a refund - owing to Amanda's cancellation - can do so by calling the Box Office on 01937 546546 – Mon to Fri, 9.00 - 17.00. All refund requests should be received by 17.00 on Mon 12 May so that we have a chance of re-allocating tickets to others.
