International Translation Day is the annual event for the translation community. It is an opportunity for translators, students, publishers, booksellers, librarians, bloggers and reviewers to gather and debate significant issues and developments within the sector, to discuss challenges and to celebrate success. With a vibrant day-long programme of seminars and workshops, this year’s symposium will include sessions on the role of translators in education, effective promotion techniques, continuing professional development for translators, and the opportunity to network and share ideas.
Presented by Free Word, English PEN and the British Library in association with the British Centre for Literary Translation, Literature Across Frontiers, the Translators' Association, Wales Literature Exchange and Words Without Borders. International Translation Day is supported by the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, Bloomberg, The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and the European Commission
