100 Poems To See You Through
When: Mon 15 Sep 2014, 18.30-19.45
Where: Conference Centre, British Library
Price: £8, (£6 Over 60s) and £5
The poetry anthologist Daisy Goodwin presents a selection of inspiring poems from her new book 100 Poems To See You Through, (Ebury) which looks at the reality of illness, treatment, recovery and bereavement. Sometimes funny, sometimes painful, but always life-affirming and consoling – the words of Keats, John Betjeman and Carol Ann Duffy among others will be read by Jenny Agutter, Sue Perkins and John Lloyd.
The event will be followed by a wine reception, open to all attendees.
Proceeds from the book will go to Maggie’s, a charity that provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer.
Please note that Anna Chancellor and Hermione Norris will no longer be reading at this event due to recently announced theatre roles.
