Join AS Byatt, Sebastian Faulks, Mark Haddon and a host of others at a new two-day fiction festival featuring some of world’s finest writers and critics.
The Folio Prize celebrates English fiction from every country, in every genre, in every form. Sponsored by The Folio Society, publishers of beautiful books, the prize has created an Academy of the world’s most eminent writers and critics to seek out and share the best novels and short stories of our time.
In the weekend leading up to the first prize announcement, The Folio Society and the British Library are hosting a festival which will feature the Folio Prize judges, shortlisted authors and members of the Academy, who will come together for a rich discussion about the art of storytelling.
The events are organised around five elements that lie at the heart of great fiction and our appreciation of it: Genre, Voice, Structure, Place and Context. Together the judges and their guest Academicians will examine how each element is essential to those books that stimulate and stay with us.
