Transparency

The Government has set out the need for greater transparency across its operations to enable the public to hold public bodies and politicians to account. In line with the Government's agenda for greater transparency the British Library is pleased to publish the following information: 

Organisational structure and salaries

An online visualisation of our organisation structure can be viewed on the data.gov website. Associated datasets related to senior staff and junior staff can also be found in the Publication scheme. Further details of how areas of responsibility within the organisation are structured are available in the governance page of our current Annual Report.

Tender documents

All new competitive tender documents for contracts over £10,000 will be published as they are issued from September 2010 within our e-tendering system.

Past tender documents (as opposed to live opportunities), as well as documents relating to other types of tender (e.g. single tender, framework agreements), can also be found on the Contracts Finder website.

Suppliers and other organisations looking to bid for public sector contracts should be aware that if they are awarded a new Government contract, the resulting contract between the supplier and the Government will be published. In some circumstances limited redactions will be made to some contracts before they are published in order to comply with existing law. 

Contracts

Full details of all new contracts of a value over £10,000 awarded since 1 January 2011 by the British Library will be found here, along with full details of all ICT contracts of a value over £10,000 entered into by the British Library since July 2010.

Financial transactions

Details of all supplier payments for individual invoices exceeding £25,000 and paid after 1 April 2010 can be found below. These details will be updated monthly on or before the 15th working day of the following month.
