This case study illustrates how Hay Group used a council’s model of leadership to design and deliver a bespoke leadership programme. Participants were encouraged to explore their own capabilities and gained a greater understanding of what leadership in the council looks like. Hay Group helped them to understand the effect their behaviour had on other people and worked with them on voice coaching to improve the way they communicated with colleagues. Hay also worked with each
participant to create a personal development plan to enable them to incorporate their new behaviours into their every day job. These plans became the main focus of follow up discussions, when people were able to review their progress and discuss any issues or concerns.
