The aim of the Roffey Park Management Agenda is to provide an annual snapshot of the issues and challenges facing managers in the workplace, and their ability to adapt to the changing nature of organisations and organisational life. This report presents the findings from the eighth Management Agenda and attempts to draw some conclusions about trends in the workplace, which are suggested by the research each year. Key issues explored in this year’s Agenda include Organisational Change (covering issues such as structure and system changes, political and economic instability, conflict resolution, legislation, risk management and Organisational Development), Organisational Life (including harassment, political behaviour, performance management, knowledge management and leadership), Organisational Culture (including corporate social responsibility, meaning and purpose at work, organisational values, creativity and diversity) the Employee Deal (including careers, work-life balance and flexible working) and finally Working Across Boundaries (covering issues such as global management, strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions).
