This whitepaper draws on published research on generational differences in the workplace including Roffey Park's own data collected in Singapore (Han Teck and Jo Hennessy, Civil Service College and Roffey Park, 2011), UK and China, as well as conversations with managers from Western, Central and Eastern Europe, the United States and Africa. It also includes interviews with a group of younger Generation Y students in the UK and Singapore to hear their views entering the workforce in a few years' time and their expectations about what they think about leaders and leadership.
