Notes Part of the Charles Ramsden Collection of Signed Bindings. Signed by Koehler. Macchi states; first half century, Paris, bound by F. Koehler. A first-class binder. He started on his own at Ancienne Comédie 12 by 1834; moved to Bac 75 in 1840 and two years later to Grenelle 59, where he remained at least till 1849. He was a pupil of Thouvenin and succeeded to much of his work. He was awarded an "A" medal in 1834 and 1839. Descamps-Scrive (Bibliothèque, 200, 424) are his work. See C.
