[Longprimer 8vo]. 2 pt. in one vol., blind stamped black roan, spine with lattice design, sides with floral borders and central diamond with floral infilling, and (on front cover) BFBS oval stamp, by G[eorge] Collier & Son, 72 Hatton Garden, with their ticket, some wear and scuffing, inner joints a bit weak, but better than usual for one of these large octavo bibles, inscription of George Joslin, Great Warley, [Essex], June 1856 on flyleaf, Eyre & Spottiswoode for BFBS, 1837 £60. According to the 1851 Essex census there are two possible (George Joslins; one b. 1847 at Great Warley, living in Hornchurch; and one b. 1816 at East Tilbury and living at Great Warley. 'George Collier was binding for BFBS from 18121 to 1845. Until he was sacked by the BFBS he may have had no need to push his name into directories'- Esther Potter.
