Assumption of the Virgin
Description: Montage composed of a miniature of the Assumption of the Virgin above the inscription 'Assumpta Est Maria' (centre); a three-sided historiated border of the arms of Clement VII, the Medici devices of a diamond ring with three feathers and motto 'Semper' and a yoke with motto 'Suave', two prophets in medallions and anthropomorphic and zoomorphic grotesques (left); and a single historiated border of the Medici device of the motto 'Candor Illesus' inscribed on a banner curling round a tree and a trunk supporting a crystal ball through which pass sun rays, one of which hits the tree causing it to burst into flames and the other striking the banner but with no effect, two prophets in medallions and anthropomorphic and zoomorphic grotesques (right).
