Description: |
Foliate initial 'R'(everendo) at the beginning of the prologue; a historiated initial 'I'(mperatorie) of three heads of kings, at the beginning of the Historia Scholastica, and a foliate initial 'I'(n principio), at the beginning of the chapter 'De creatione empyrei et quatuor elementorum', with an inscription stating that the book was given to the cathedral priory of St. Andrew, Rochester by Radulphus de Stoke, and numbered III, reading 'III Per Radulphu[m] de Stoke mo[nacu]m. Li/ber histo[riarum] scolastica[rum] de claustro / Roffens[i] q[ue]m q[ui] inde alienav[er]it alienatu[m] / celav[er]it vel hu[n]c titulu[m] in fraude[m] delev[er]it / Anathema sit Amen./'. |
