Description: |
Inscription recording the pledge of the book with three other manuscripts by John Kyrkby in the Guildford chest, Oxford, on 8 July 1468, for 30 shillings, reading 'Cau[ci]o m[agistr]i Joh. Kyrkby expo[si]ta i[n] cista de gilford An[n]o do[min]i m° cccc° lxviii° die m[en]sis julii / lib[er] Aug[ustin]i de t[r]initate 2° fo[lio] sine proemnis habent et h[abe]t 3 suppra 2°fo[lio] p[ro] d[om]i[n]o mune[r]e / 2° fo[lio] q[u]i malefac[er]e 2° fo[lio] 3 d[is]ti[n]ctio p[er] arti[cu]los et iacet p[ro] xxx s.'; and another inscription recording the plegde of the book on 11 February 1469, for 28 shillings, reading 'Cauci[o] Kyrkby ex[posi]ta a[nn]o d[omi]ni m° lxix ix die me[n]s[is] februarii et iacet p[ro] xxviii s.'; with an information added by the same hand, reading, 'in q[uod] p[ro] suppra[scrip]to s° folio distinct[i]o p[er] artic[u]los ... 2° fo[lio] et post pauca et d[omi]n[u]s W. Chycheley h[abe]t.' |
