Description: |
Decorated initial 'H'(unc) with the John Beaver's initials, 'IB', in gold, at the start of the inscription, stating that Lord John Beaver, monk of St. Albans, had the manuscript made, and that with the permission of John Whethamstede, the abbot (1420-1440), he has given it to God, the Virgin Mary, and the church of St. Alban.
