Abraham and Nimrod
Description: Detail of a page: historiated initial-word panel with gold letters: Mi-thilah at the beginning of the passage, 'In the beginning our fathers were idolators'. Around the initial-word panel, two midrashic scenes: on the left side of the panel, Abraham standing in front of king Nimrod, beneath the panel, Abraham in the fiery furnace flanked by two angels (see e.g. Genesis Rabbah 38:13).
