Miniature of four scenes from the Gospel of Mark in quatrefoils, (top left) Christ before the High Priest who wears a mitre, (top right) a man seizing another by pulling back his cloak as he leaves a building, from which he dropped his cloak and fled naked, (bottom left) the Flagellation of Christ, with the High Priest and Peter standing by, (bottom right) Peter warming himself by the fire when a maid accuses him of being there at Nazareth with Jesus, with a bas-de-page scene of Edward, king and martyr, being stabbed while drinking by the cup-bearer, with his step-mother Ælfthryth and another woman looking on. |
