Arundel 83 f. 130v The Cherub
The Cherub
Description: Diagram of a 'cherub' with six wings, from the De Lisle Psalter (Arundel MS 83 II). The 'cherub' stands on a wheel whose spokes are inscribed with the seven works of mercy. On each of his six wings is inscribed a main topic and the five feathers of each wing are inscribed with five sub-topics, dealing with aspects of penitence.
