Decoration 3 large decorated foliate initials with partial foliate borders, at the beginning of the different parts, in colours and gold (ff. 3, 94, 136). 11 smaller decorated foliate initials, several with foliate extensions, with pen-flourishing, in colours and gold, at the beginning of the texts of the Minor Prophets (ff. 149, 154v, 165v, 168, 172, 180v, 184, 188, 192, 195v, 211v). Small initials in red with blue or purple pen-flourishing or in blue with red pen-flourishing. Capital letters highlighted in red.

Official foliation ff. 215 (+ 1 original unfoliated leaf after f. 93, and 1 after f. 134; + 3 modern paper and 1 medieval parchment flyleaves at the beginning, and 2 medieval parchment and 2 modern paper flyleaves at the end)

Provenance Inscribed 'F. H. B.' at the end of the text (f. 215v).

Thomas Howard (b. 1585, d. 1646), 2nd earl of Arundel, 4th earl of Surrey, and 1st earl of Norfolk, art collector and politician, 1636: inscribed 'Herbipoli [Würtzburg] 9 maii 1636 stilo veteri, in legatione ad Caesarem Ferdinandum 2. Virtutis Laus Actio Arundell Surrey' (f. 1).
Henry Howard (b. 1628, d. 1684), 6th duke of Norfolk, presented to the Royal Society in 1667.
The Royal Society, London (its ink stamp: 'Soc. Reg. Lond / ex dono HENR. HOWARD / Norfolciensis.', f. 1).
Purchased by the British Museum from the Royal Society of London together with 549 other Arundel manuscripts in 1831.
