Small initials in plain red or green, sometimes with ornamental extensions into the margins.
Dimensions in mm 375 x 265 (305 x 210) in two columns
Official foliation ff. 205 (+ 2 modern paper flyleaves at the beginning, and 3 at the end)
Collation i-xxiv8 (ff. 1-192), xxv8-2 (central bifolium excised by 1299, note in the lower margin of f. 196; ff. 193-198), xxviseven (at least one leaf excised after f. 205; ff. 199-205); ends imperfect in the 7th book of De bello judaico, last leaf (f. 205) fragmentary.

Binding BM/BL in-house. The edges of the leaves speckled with blue.
Provenance ? Thomas Howard (b. 1585, d. 1646), 2nd earl of Arundel, 4th earl of Surrey, and 1st earl of Norfolk, art collector and politician.
Henry Howard (b. 1628, d. 1684), 6th duke of Norfolk, presented to the Royal Society in 1667.
The Royal Society, London (its ink stamp: 'Soc. Reg. Lond / ex dono HENR. HOWARD / Norfolciensis.', f. 1).
Purchased by the British Museum from the Royal Society of London together with 549 other Arundel manuscripts in 1831.
Notes Colour-note 'R' sometimes appears next to red initials, and 'V' next to green ones. At least one leaf was missing by the 13th century (note in the lower margin of f. 196).
