Decoration 1 historiated initial 'I' of God creating the earth above God creating Adam, in colours and gold. On the reverse, three 4-line staves with musical notation and three lines of fragmentary text.
Dimensions in mm 160 x 60
Official foliation Whole album: ff. 22 ( + unfoliated modern paper leaves at the beginning and at the end). This cutting foliated as f. 1(a).
Form Parchment cutting mounted on paper in an album of cuttings and leaves.
Binding BM/BL in-house.
Provenance William Henry James Weale (b. 1832, d. 1917), art historian: purchased by the British Museum on 16 April 1883: (inscription, f. [i]).
Notes Italian cutting.
This cutting is bound together with six other mounted cuttings and leaves as Add. 32058. To order this cutting in the Manuscripts Reading Room order Add. 32058.
The initial is by the same artist, Nerio, and probably from the same manuscripts as Add. 32058, ff. 1 (b), 2 (a)-(b).
