Decoration Four medallions in the margins preceding the Gospels, in red, blue and green, containing the Evangelists symbols (ff. 10, 34v, 55v, 85v). Initials with penwork decoration in red and blue. Eusebian Canon tables consisting of columns and arches with zoomorphic or anthromorphic decoration and architectural pinnacles in brown and green and titles in red (ff. 1r-3v). Rubrics and verse numbering in red. Running titles and marginal rubrics in brown.
Dimensions in mm 270 x 200 (205 x 120)
Official foliation ff. 112 (+ 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning + 3 at the end).

Binding Post-1600. Red leather with gold-tooled decoration and gilt edges.
Provenance Augustus Frederick (b. 1801, d. 1843), Duke of Sussex: armorial bookplate pasted on the inside of the upper cover; his sale, 31 July1844, lot 232. Purchased by the British Museum through Thomas Thorpe, 13 August 1844.

A watermark of the three wise men with the star on a paper flyleaf, f. [i] (not in Briquet, Les Filigraines).
The canon tables are incomplete, containing only the titles.
