Initials in gold on blue and rose grounds with penwork decoration in white. Line-fillers in blue and rose with penwork decoration in white. |

Thomas Thwaytes (d.1503), chancellor of the Exchequer, chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster under Edward IV, member of the royal council in 1482, and treasurer of Calais until 1490: his arms (vol. 1, Royal 14 D II, f. 8, vol. 2, Royal 14 D III, f. 1, vol. 3, Royal 14 D IV, f. 10, vol. 4, Royal 14 D V, f. 8; in the present volume the arms left unfinished); given by him to Edward IV or confiscated from him as a result of his arrest in 1494.
The Old Royal Library (the English Royal Library): included in the list of books at Richmond Palace of 1535, no. 11.
Presented to the British Museum by George II in 1757 as part of the Old Royal Library. |
