? The Marquis Costabili [Comestabili] of Bologna, 18/19th? century: modern pencil note (3rd flyleaf [f. iii]).
Biblioteca nazionale di S. Marco, Venice, 18/19th century: book-plate (inside upper cover [f. i)].
Inscribed, 20th-century: 'To Darling Kaye with love from Harry. The second jewel' (2nd flyleaf [f. ii]).
Bought by the British Museum in 1942, using the Bridgewater fund (£12,000 bequeathed in in 1829 by Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829). |
