Decoration A tinted drawing in red, blue and light brown with a large zoomorphic initial on a red ground (f. 3). Large interlace tinted initials in red, blue and yellow with zoomorphic and foliate features (ff. 3, 27v, 59, 89). Initials with penwork decoration in red, blue and yellow wash. Small initials in red and blue. Rubrics in red. Paragraph signs in black. Some letters have been highlighted in red.

Official foliation ff. 114 ( ff. 1-2; 113-114 are medieval pastedowns and flyleaves + 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning + at the end)

Binding Post-1600. Brown leather.
Provenance Numerous erased annotations throughout the text.
Parchment flyleaves added at the beginning and at the end containing an extract from Alexander of Villa Dei, Doctrinale (ff. 1-2 and f. 113) and a table with Roman numerals for finding the Easter dates (f. 114r); a slightly later scribe has written the years from 1414 to 1423 in this table; an ownership inscription might have been erased (f. 113).
Notes related to the Doctrinale of Alexander Villa Dei in 16th-century and 17th-century (ff. 113r-v, 114).
Notes written by one scribe throughout the text in a 16th-century ?Italian hand (e. g., ff. 14v, 30v).
A Greek inscription 'Take the time' ina 16th-century hand (f. 1v).
An early modern pressmark 'No 8' (f. 2).
Purchased by the British Museum from Payne and Foss, London booksellers, on 12 June 1847 (f. [ii] recto) with 11 other manuscripts for Ł350.
