This statistical release presents data on gross additional affordable housing supply in England between 2005-06 and 2014-15.

New affordable homes are additional housing units (or bed spaces) provided to specified eligible households whose needs are not met by the market. The figures in this release show the gross annual supply of affordable homes, which includes new build and acquisitions from the private sector but does not take account of losses through demolitions or sales.

A total of 66,640 affordable homes were provided in England in 2014-15, 55 per cent higher than the 42,870 affordable homes supplied in 2013-14.
