This full paper from the Human Resource Management track of BAM 2013 examines the strategic alignment of bank employees in the Cypriot-Private-Banking-Sector. The central purpose is to test and build the theory of employee ‘line of sight’ to the strategic objectives of the organisation beyond its current state through the introduction of new variables including supervisor communication, supervisor support and dyadic trust. Empirical study on line of sight still remains in its infancy; this research project aims to be the second empirical investigation in this key area. Three banks participated fully in the study (n=370) and a total of 548 usable questionnaires were collected from the whole Cypriot-Private-Banking-Sector. The findings indicate a relationship between most the variables under examination and many of the hypotheses are confirmed. This paper contributes to debates surrounding the linkages between strategy, human resources and performance outcomes.
